About the Department

The Department of Paediatrics at Shillong Medical College is dedicated to the comprehensive care of infants, children, and adolescents, providing students with in-depth education and clinical training in the diagnosis and management of childhood illnesses. Through clinical postings, neonatal and paediatric intensive care exposure, and immunization clinics, students gain practical experience in both preventive and curative aspects of child health. With a strong emphasis on compassionate care, early intervention, and parental education, the department prepares future doctors to address the diverse healthcare needs of children. Through hands-on clinical experience, students develop the knowledge and skills required to support the healthy growth, development, and wellbeing of children.
